It's Official: Star Wars is Finally Returning To The Most Infamous Location in Meme History
In the latest Star Wars comic, Kylo Ren, the grandson of Anakin Skywalker, sets off on a mission to learn more about his grandfather’s past. During his quest, Kylo Ren will be traveling to a familiar planet to visit an iconic spot in the Star Wars prequels and meme history.
Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #4 – written by Charles Soule, with art by Stefano Raffaele – continues the story set in the uncharted time between Episode VIII:The Last Jedi and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker;the miniseries follows Kylo Ren as he struggles with the weight of his past and how it affects him, and now he will return to the site of Anakin and Padme's infamous scene from Attack of the Clones.
In issue #1, Kylo originally intended to destroy Vader’s fortress on Mustafar, his mind quickly changed, however, leading him on the journey to Anakin’s past.

Marvel Comics' solicitations for May 2025 revealed the cover for Legacy of Vader #4. The cover art features Kylo Ren in the forefront with Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala in their youth in the background. These images are set against a field that will be familiar to fans of Episode II: Attack of the Clones. In Attack of the Clones, Anakin accompanies Padmé back to Naboo as her personal security detail, where the two give into their blossoming feelings towards one another. It is there that Anakin and Padmé have a picnic in solitude.
It is clear that Kylo Ren will be tracing his grandfather’s steps back into his teenage years at the beginning of the Clone Wars and his romance with Padmé.
The picnic scene resurfaced years after Attack of the Clones was released, skyrocketing in popularity as a meme featuring Anakin and Padmé in the field; the meme still pops up frequently, but it is the location that is important in terms of Legacy of Vader. With the notable background of Naboo, it is clear that Kylo Ren will be tracing his grandfather’s steps back into his teenage years at the beginning of the Clone Wars and his romance with Padmé. What exactly Kylo Ren will find remains unknown.

Legacy of Vader #1 showed Kylo Ren traveling to Mustafar where Darth Vader was stationed after Obi-Wan Kenobi defeated him at the end of Revenge of the Sith. The synopses for the upcoming Legacy of Vader #2 and #4 reveal that Kylo Ren will also travel to Tatooine, which was both Anakin and Luke Skywalker's home planet. With Legacy of Vader #4 confirmed to bring Kylo Ren to Naboo, it is clear that he is working his way through significant locations in Darth Vader’s past in chronological order.

Star Wars is launching one of its best spin-off series ever, featuring Kylo Ren as the galaxy's Supreme Leader and facing his grandfather's dark past.
Interestingly, Tatooine and Naboo are both planets associated with Anakin Skywalker as opposed to Darth Vader. They are places that Anakin held dear and played major roles in his life. If Kylo Ren is looking to uncover more about Darth Vader, it will be interesting to see how locations specifically tied to Anakin Skywalker will impact whatever it is Kylo Ren hopes to discover about Vader. Kylo Ren has also never mentioned his grandmother, Padmé. As his journey is about to bring him to her home planet, Star Wars readers can only wait to discover how Padmé factors into Kylo Ren’s story.
