MANILA – Far Eastern University-Diliman extended its winning run to six after beating Ateneo de Manila University, 69-55, Saturday at the close of the elimination round in the UAAP Season 87 boys' basketball at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

FEU-D, the No. 2 team with a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals, will face No. 3 University of Santo Tomas Tiger Cubs at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Wednesday.

The other semifinal will pit No. 1 University of the East against No. 4 National University-Nazareth School.

Anton Lopez fired four triples to finish with 16 points and Kierdy Victoria chipped in nine points for FEU-D, which posted its biggest lead at 68-49.

Duke Santos and Prince Cariño scored eight points, while Mark Dulin and CP Medina added seven points each.

“Whatever pain we felt in the second round, we buried it and turned it into experience. I told them, we can't live in the past, what's our anger and annoyance, let's replace it with work and win in the Final Four," coach Muriel Garcia said.

Domeng Ngo delivered 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals for Ateneo.

Meanwhile, Vince Magan produced 26 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and three assists as De La Salle-Zobel outclassed Adamson University, 73-59.

Melvin Tailan contributed 23 points, six rebounds, six assists, and three steals for the Junior Archers, who ended their campaign at 6-8 followed by the Blue Eagles (5-9).

Khylan Edison Jordan had 20 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks for Adamson (3-11), while University of the Philippines Integrated School ended the season winless. (PNA)
